  • PURPOSE OF THE ROLE
  • The DX Senior Manager’s core responsibility will be to deliver transformation projects successfully. The projects will primarily be applications that transform the operations of the company or its external interactions. These could be in the areas of portals, analytics, mobility, Internet of Things, Social Media.
  • IDEAL PROFILE
  • Educational Qualification BCA , MCA
  • PMP Certification will be a plus
  • Work Experience Required (In yrs.) Overall 12+ years of experience in developing and delivering transformational software applications – either as part of an IT department of a manufacturing organization or an IT Services organization with a manufacturing vertical preferably in large firm. Experience in delivering applications for Manufacturing vertical is essential.
  • 7 + years of Project Management Experience in Software Development projects/ Packaged software implementation.
  • Expertise in handling IT vendors.
  • Other Relevant Direct Skills Should be having prior expertise in delivery of portals, analytics, mobile applications.
  • Should be experienced in handling all phases of a software lifecycle – initiation, requirements, design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance, retiring, migration.
  • Should have expertise in ensuring the right deployment strategies are followed, especially related to internet applications. This will require understanding of security, hosting, sizing and load balancing concepts.
  • Should be exposed to relational databases such as Oracle, DB2 or SQL Server.
  • Should have prior experience in architecting large enterprise applications.
  • Should be able to interact with business users, evangelize IT automation, and extract new automation opportunities, prepare business case for management approval, and implement.
  • Should be familiar with technology trends and identify potential areas to apply within co.
  • Should have strong delivery, quality and cost focus.
  • Should have a strong passion for applying technology.
  • MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Responsibilities (Indicate Key Deliverables for this position)
  • The person will work collaboratively with IT Head, GM-IT, Divisional Heads, Business stakeholders and various IT Partners (outsourced) to complete the projects within stipulated budgets and schedule while delivering all objectives
  • The person will be responsible to gather requirements (with help of a Business Analyst), assess complexity, make detailed project plan, project objectives, effort and cost Estimate, resource planning, manage project risks and issues, publish regular status updates
  • The person will carry end-to-end responsibility for projects under him/her.
  • The person will periodically review the projects and drive necessary actions in timely manner to ensure timely successful completion and rollout of the project
  • The person will interact with Senior Business Stakeholders as needed to communicate the status, get decisions on sticky issues and move the project forward
  • The person will control scope, schedule and cost creep through effective change management process.
  • The person should be able to take a project from concept stage to final production stage and manage subsequent go live activities.
  • The person should have managed systems in a production mode and be familiar with release management, configuration management, testing (QA, Staging and Production).

  • KEY COMPETENCIES REQUIRED (Technical & Behavioral)
  • TECHNICAL Knowledge of Microsoft Project, project methodology, and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), 5 to 6 years of Programming Experience in languages preferably in Java, Microsoft .net, mobility experience will be an advantage
  • Configuration management using tools such as SVN
  • Strong technical experience in technologies such as Java, .Net, RDBMS, web-based technologies
  • Exposure to testing and release management processes
  • Knowledge of quality standards such as ISO and CMMI
  • Optional but desirable: Exposure to mobility platforms such as Android or IOS
